Poem: By Moonrise and Moonshine

Explore the duality of existence, where shadows and light entwine; the contrast between ‘The Broken’ lost in despair, and ‘The Divine’ radiating resilience.

Through the contrasting tales, the poem explores the divergent paths one can take. The choice is ours to make, through darkness and light in life, it’s our choice to define our narrative – our perspective of life.

By Moonrise and Moonshine

By moonrise and moonshine,

A night of light unfolds, a world of light divine,

In the realm of shadows embrace,

Two stories stand apart, in different space.

The Broken, veiled in despairs hold,

The Divine, radiant, standing bold.

*

In the realm of shadows and darkness, The Broken is captivated by fear’s bind,

Only darkness to see, leaving all dreams behind.

A life only seen as a struggle, a path of despair,

Blaming the whole world, their hardships and life is by their.

*

The Divine on the other hand, though tested by life’s many trials,

Turns challenges into lessons, all hardships to radiant smiles.

The Divine dances through all strifes, standing tall and strong,

Compose a symphony of resilience, creating the world where she belongs.

*

The Broken’s heart is heavy and dark, a canvas portraying the pain,

Refusing to grow, blaming all around them, choosing disdain.

Hating the world, blaming everyone else for their fall,

No responsibility is taken at all.

*

The Divine shines with hope and light,

The darkness within faced, transformed by changing her sight.

Through facing the heavy chains of darkness holding her tight,

She embraced the whole journey, day and night.

*

Two lives diverged to different paths unknown,

One bounded heavily by shadows, the other in bright light shown.

In the end, down the line, it’s up to you if your story is about the broken, or the divine.

The choice of life is yours to make, yours to define.

Through the dance of life, the canvas you paint and hold,

Is yours to design, to shape and unfold.

In the end, your painting of life in darkness or light,

Is your piece of art, a result from your perspective of life’s brief sight.

Poem: Life is an adventure

Life is an adventure

Life is an adventure with ups and downs,

Climbing and climbing for those goals in mind.

Despite the hurry to reach the goal in sight,

It’s the journey with all its light, different views and people you meet,

That will make you feel complete.

Thought the view on the top may be fine,

It’s the journey itself you’ll remember the best,

All those times you were put to a test.

🌞 Share a smile ☀️

Sunshine inside and out,

That’s what I’m all about.

Be the sunshine when you can,

Like it’s part of your plan.

For one is never fully dressed,

Without a smile on one’s face,

Even when it’s rainy days.

Despite these facts,

A smiley face can be just an artifact.

Thus, here is a little spark and shine,

For you to, hopefully, feel more fine.

Whether we feel happy or blue,

Let’s share a smile me and you.

Down the Rabbit Hole: Alice in Wonderland Inspired Poetry

In the Easter spirit, though it just has passed, here are two poems inspired by Alice in Wonderland and bunny holes of adventures:

But it is the journey and whom you meet,

That will make you feel complete

CG Art & Poetry/ Gjersvik, 2022, p.79, also available here “Success

The first poem is written by me – which you’ll also find in my book. The second is written using ChatGPT – first of all just for fun, but I must say I’m impressed by the result #techfun.

Sleeping beauty

Oh, a sleeping beauty of some,

A sleeping beauty like the story told by mum.

.

If it was only so simple to come.

When I thought, I was going to bed,

My head decided to rhyme instead….

.

.

.

If only sleep came easily,

With dreams of a castle and bee,

She thought queasily.

Alice in wonderland photoshoot with a bunny running

.

When sleep finally arrived and knocked her out,

Her dreams were all about,

Horror and terrifying news,

She didn’t lose her shoe at the ball,

She never experienced it at all.

.

Instead, her nightmare woke her,

And maybe the waves from the shore.

At least she’s secure after all.

Breathing heavily, while tears are drained,

Has she gone completely insane?

No for reality hit her after all.

A quick dive down the rabbit whole of Alice in wonderland for an adventure to cure – the very ordinary of life, and again to dance through it all while still fighting a strife.

For who says you can’t dance through life….

Still fighting a strife…?

Alice in wonderland photoshoot with a bunny running and a woman drinking tea.

.

Sometimes a new perspective is all that you need,

For you to plant a new seed.

A seed to water and grow,

And let all your ideas flow.

.

.

In the story she goes after stories to tell,

Before the ring of the morning bell.

Thus, when all her thoughts were collected and written down,

She got the crown.

On her head it rested lightly,

And dreams of the times it was knightly,

She fell asleep ones again, nightly.

.

Sleep well,

When she wakes up again by the bell,

There will be more stories to tell.

.

Until then,

May all sleep in Zen,

With dreams so sweet and heavenly,

Of sweet sweet melody,

Towards each our own destiny.

May each our dreams be filled with love,

With stories to tell and send with a dove.

Dreams of adventures and bunny holes,

And all the Alice in wonderland [1]roles.

The mad hatter and tea party bunnies for sure,

Like madness didn’t need a cure,

For all the best people are, with minds so pure.

.

We all have each our dream,

Not always quite what it seems.

Go for your dreamlife for sure,

Cause life has no cure.

An expiration date is all that it means,

So live life dear kings and queens.

Live fully with all your heart,

It’s part of the art.

.

Sleeping in and sleeping more,

Is healing at its core.

However, know when to wake up,

Have a coffee cup,

And get up:

It’s time to pursue your dreams,

You start by the schemes.

.

Good morning or good night,

Let this be your sign and light,

To fight and find peace, all in the same dream by day and by night.

.

Good morning, or good night.

A poem with the use of ChatGPT:

Down the rabbit hole we go,

Where adventures never slow.

With Alice as our guide,

We’ll see wonders far and wide.

.

The Cheshire Cat will grin,

As we journey through his whims.

The Mad Hatter will pour tea,

As we dance with glee.

.

The Queen of Hearts will shout,

As we play a game of croquet no doubt.

But the Jabberwocky we’ll slay,

And save the day.

.

In this world of make-believe,

We’ll find our courage and achieve.

For down the rabbit hole we go,

Where adventures never slow.

.

We search and search for what we seek,

Our purpose, our passion, our unique.

We try new things, we take a chance,

We question ourselves, we learn to dance.

.

We find joy in the little things,

The sound of birds, the joy it brings.

We see the beauty in the world,

The ocean waves, the sunrise unfurled.

.

We connect with people near and far,

Building bridges, healing scars.

We lend a helping hand,

Supporting others, taking a stand.

.

Through the ups and downs of life,

We find our purpose, end the strife.

Our journey may be long or short,

But with purpose, we’ll never fall short.

.

So let us continue to explore,

Our passions, our dreams, and so much more.

For finding our purpose is a lifelong quest,

But the journey itself is what is best.

She Might Burn: A Poem About Resilience

She Might Burn

They say she is fragile,

But she is rather agile.

.

You called her crazy,

But maybe it’s just you who are lazy?

… and even if she is crazy,

She is a daisy.

.

She is gentle,

You’re judgmental.

.

If her light shines too bright,

Catch a flight.

.

If her warming hands burn,

You are free to return.

However, you have to learn.

.

What you called fragile,

Is indeed highly vagile.

.

She has learned,

After she got burned,

To be unconcerned.

.

She is a daisy,

Maybe a bit crazy,

But never lazy.

.

A daisy symbolises innocence and fun,

But is not for everyone.

.

She stretches towards the sun,

Just for fun.

.

Her light shines bright,

She is daylight.

.

She has been called a sun,

But you pointed the gun.

So, if she is to burn, It was your decision to the point of no return.

Poem ‘Bubblegum Bitch’: Reclaiming Power

Bubblegum Bitch,

Yeah, they she is a Witch.

A true Women In Total Control of Herself,

Or Beauty if you like.

.

Call her a bitch again,

And you’ll see,

Her words by the pen.

.

Oh, you just called her a bitch again?

My advice would be to be more careful with your words/life then.

Calling women bitches ain’t cool. Nor is it when we women call each other that for “fun” – it ain’t fun. However, as a perpetual optimist, let’s find the light. If anyone calls you a bitch, flip your hair and return ” Oh thank you for calling me a Beauty In Total Control of Herself, try it again and see what happens”. You’re welcome, please share your stories.

Endometriosis Awareness Month: Let’s Elevate Women’s Health

Endometriosis Awareness Month

Endowarrior is what we say,

But it doesn’t even begin to portray,

The many pains, frustrations, and disbelief,

From society and far wider than the school Dean. Yeah, back during gym sessions, class of strict teachers, and all those runs to the lo. “No more to the toilet for you”. Bleeding through tampons, pads, and jeans. We were just teens. So little empathy given for the young; “period pains are part of womanhood” came out from their tongue.

💛

So often we’re met with disbelief,

For apparently normality is what they all portray it and it seems.

But pains like these are far too much,

To be anything but normal as such.

Still doctors tells you no,

Even when you’ve done the research and almost know. A few tests and the right gyno could solve a lot, but then they lack knowledge of such.

💛

Cries, vomit, and unexplainable pain,

Will make any people go insane.

Far worse than pain itself,

Is the disbelieve in oneself.

Is all just in my head like they all ensured and said to me,

Or is the fault in lack of knowledge of thee?

💛

It’s time to wake up and fight,

Fight for a human right.

Right as a woman to be heard,

Not met with absurd.

Knowledge of doctors and society we must,

Let’s lift the problem and trust.

When someone has excruciating pain,

Don’t make them feel far from sane.

Hear their words and reassure,

Though they might lack the knowledge to find,

They will acknowledge you, and contact people who could figure out what’s “wrong with you”. Rather admit to the boundaries of knowledge, than just saying no.

Endometriosis awareness month, but let’s lift it to science of female health. Health is your greatest wealth after all, and I’m sure we’ll find it profitable for all. Investors, society and women around the world, knowledge must be power for sure. When one in ten females has the disease, I question how come we haven’t researched more and found a better cure? Painkillers, the pill, and operations are only useful for a while,

But there should be something more worthwhile.

Until then,

Fight your way through life,

For who says you can’t dance in life while still fighting a strife?

March is the #EndometriosisAwarenessMonth – join the conversation!

The aim is to increase awareness and highlight the symptoms of the condition that affects about one in ten women, with average of about 7 years to get diagnosed.1 The difference between endometriosis and adenomyosis is where the tissue grows, but the two are not mutually exclusive as adenomyosis is seen in 20-89% of women with endometriosis. Adenomyosis is when endometrial-like tissue grows into the muscle of the uterus, while endometriosis is when endometrial-like tissue grows outside the uterus (like on the ovaries, fallopian tubes)2.

My personal story

Last year I got very sick with a lot of different viruses and bacterial infections, resulting in severe constipation, vomiting, fainting, ER visits, and more. One part of the total package of examinations was testing for endometriosis and/or adenomyosis due to a gynecologist who had previously that year found tissue evidence supporting the diagnosis. Before this gynecologist, I’ve been to several different ones and GPs regarding my period pains and flood, but all previous healthcare professionals have turned down my inquiry for testing and been certain in their knowledge that I did not have either, or. Even the doctor who gave me coagulation pills as a teenager, nor the gyno whom I meet at 16 years old for pains. Teachers at my schools were harsh when I had to run to the toilet so much, even though my mother had given a note in advance… even when I was one of the few at secondary school who followed every lecture with a hawk’s eye and sharp pencils writing down every word….

One year ago, right after the first doctor who acknowledged me, I wrote the poem above. One year ago, I didn’t have the courage to publish it. After all last year, I grew, and this year, it’s out. This year I have the courage to stand by it and every word in it. This year, I’m taking a stand – we need to invest more in #womenhealth!

Resources

I’ve collected a few information resource links below, but please note that I’m not a doctor and to use critical thinking when searching the web. Moreover, please contact a doctor you trust or ask for a GP and/or a gynecologist with experience in the field if you resonate with the above and suspect it could be Endometriosis or Adenomyosis:

So we don’t break.

Maybe we need to break,

Missing summer?

Hello lovely people,

I’m wishing you all a beautiful autumn time, the season with all colours, and showing us how beautiful change can be.

Missing summer?

Do you miss summer?
That’s a bummer.
.
The past is the past,
Something that will never last.
.
The future has not yet arrived,
So, wait until you know you have survived and thrived.
.
But today is the present,
Treat it like a warm hug from the sun,
… which is quite pleasant.
.
For if you live for today,
You’ll receive a memory bouquet,
So time to slay the day!
.
Smile for what was,
And what is,
For we don’t know what tomorrow brings…
But I’m sure it’s a lot of fun and lovely things.

A little update from me is that my health/body is getting better, slowly – but surely. One day at a time, working towards “my normal life” with work, all my projects, and crazy workouts…. (“normal” as I’ve always had a high tempo in life, truly enjoying doing a lot of variety with work, projects, and my daily workouts)… but not getting ahead of myself here… First and foremost, focusing on recovery by respecting my body’s need for rest and taking things slowly – still, just being able to do a little bit more every day and every week is a huge motivation in itself. Then there are days I get so excited from my small achievements, but then a little sad from not being able to do the next thing I try… On the other hand, I remind myself of the huge progress from lying in bed, and that getting back is a step-by-step process. Like yesterday, finally walked to my happy place again, a park nearby with amazing views and calmness. It’s “my place” where I’ve had almost daily evening/night walks for the past 6 years, as well as wonderful running adventures. Just being able to have a walk there now, means everything – even though I need breaks and we took the tram back home as I need to carefully choose where to use my energy… Holding on to the fact that I managed to have a wonderful walk, instead of focusing on how far I still have to work to get “back” to where I used to be. Moreover, being grateful for being a little bit back to work, having the energy to put on make-up again, and noticing that some of my light is shining through again – I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. Last words today; remember it’s all about the small moments in life and appreciating every part and every step of one’s journey.
